About

Enjoy a wonderful wander in our wildlife spaces to see the thriving butterflies and other fauna - finishing off with an English Cream Tea in the 1916 Airmen's Mess!
Arriving at 1pm, you will join our dedicated Wildlife volunteers on site. After a quick chat, you will be led off, into the wooded and secluded areas that are kept protected on site.
With the summer being so splendid, the Butterflies and Moths have been teaming. As you step quietly with your guide, among the trees and grasses, you have the best chance to view this wonderful ecosystem. Tickets £22.

Map & Directions

Road Directions

To reach the Hackmans Lane entrance we recommend using what3words - which is free: ///passports.glorious.mulled

The quickest way to get to us is to follow the A12 until you reach junction 18, then take the A414 (Maldon) exit. Follow the A414 through Danbury until your reach the major roundabout. Go straight over, taking the B1010 to Burnham, keeping your eye out for the Brown signs - there is one on the roundabout exit to get you started.

Take the first right turn off the B1010 than STAY ON THIS ROAD, through the next village (Purleigh/Cock Clarks) and out the other side onto the long, straight road that is Hackman's Lane. We are on the right, about about a mile after you leave the village. We are signposted clearly.
