Generally considered Dickens' most autobiographical novel, David Copperfield is by turns hilarious and moving and full of trademark extraordinary characters such as Mr Micawber, Uriah Heep and Betsey Trotwood, Simon Reade adapted the very successful Private Peaceful which was directed in Frinton by Mike Harris who also directed last year's wonderful play Dear Lupin. This version is a fast-moving three-hander with songs, which is going to take a lot of ingenuity, different costumes and hats!
