About
Join Lee Valley Regional Park's Conservation Team for an evening dedicated to bats, moths and some of the other wildlife that only comes out after dark, when most of our visitors have left.
Our evening will start at the Wildlife Discovery Centre where a warm drink awaits. As everyone gathers there will be a chance to find out a bit more about some of our nocturnal animals and the ways we monitor them in the park, with various displays and activities to try. Weather permitting, we will also have some live Moths for you to get up close to, collected from our light trap the previous night.
We will then move through to the hide and settle in for a talk about some of these elusive nighttime creatures, with a particular focus on bats. Following the talk we will head outside for the final part of our evening. Armed with bat detectors we will spend some time in the immediate area, a hotspot for bats, and see what species we can find.
