About

Jane Bottery and Simon Langsdale have an appreciation of nature writing and the wish to make meditative pieces which resonate with the viewer. The work has been influenced by the landscapes of Essex after the artists undertook a series of walks, initially inspired by J A Baker's The Peregrine. The spaces they explored, with their juxtapositions of wildness and man-made interventions and fleeting glimpses of history tied in with their preferences for things of the periphery and for exploring the unusual and overlooked.
