Told entirely through song, Jesus Christ Superstar traces the last seven days of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Loosely based on the Gospels, Superstar focuses on the personal conflicts between Jesus, his disciples, the leadership of Rome as well as Jesus' relationship with Mary Magdalene.
Written by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice as a Rock Opera, the show quickly became a worldwide hit with West End and Broadway productions, countless tours and two film versions. The Iconic 70s score contains such well know songs as Superstar, I Don't Know How To Love Him and Gethsemane.
