About

Throughout the summer of 2022 artist duo Daniel & Clara will be taking their work on tour across East Anglia, launching on Mersea Island on 21st May with an exhibition of their video installation 'On The Island'.

Responding to the psychological impact of the global pandemic and the physical restrictions of lockdown, 'On The Island' is a series of 100 short videos depicting Daniel & Clara in the landscapes of Mersea Island, Essex, where they've been living since March 2020. Filmed during their permitted 1 hour daily walks, 'On The Island' captures a series of moments of deep engagement with the landscapes and weather through that strange year when we all found ourselves confined to our local environments.

This exhibition will be accompanied by a film screening, artist talk, children's workshops, and a map for a self-guided walk at Cudmore Grove that invites you on a sensorial re-imagining of the landscape.
