About
Joey Evans is an opportunistic cad who always seems to land on his feet. After elbowing his way into an emcee job at a small Chicago nightclub, he finds himself juggling the attentions of a naive young woman and a wealthy – but married – society dame.
Joey charms the socialite into setting him up in his own nightclub. Soon he's riding high, playing the big-time operator. When a mobster threatens to spill the whole business to the socialite's husband, she promptly dumps Joey… and the club.
Having tasted his own medicine, Joey moves on, certain to land on his feet once again.
Starring Rita Hayworth, Frank Sinatra, and Kim Novak.
