About
Join us as we commemorate the Fallen at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome, in the presence of the Lord Lieutenancy of Essex.
Now an established fixture in the county Festival of Remembrance, the parade at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is a hugely popular event. While the event is free to attend with a ticket, we welcome donations.
We welcome ticket holders to arrive from just before 11am, although our parade will begin in the early afternoon.
The Ceremony will be led by The Lord Lieutenancy of Essex.
The Honour Party will include representatives from Essex County Council, Maldon District Council, HM Government as well as Colchester Garrison.
Assembled together, the Uniformed Youth Units representing all arms will be joined by serving members of HM Forces as they pay their respects to those lost in all conflicts.
As the last remaining functioning Great War aerodrome, hosting the largest collection of Great War Royal Flying Corps buildings, Stow Maries is a poignant and appropriate place to visit for this sensitive service.
All visitors and participants not on parade will require a ticket. All those on parade will need to be in uniform.
Tickets are free but limited. Non-ticketholders will be turned away due to shortage of parking spaces.

To reach the Hackmans Lane entrance we recommend using what3words - which is free: ///passports.glorious.mulled
The quickest way to get to us is to follow the A12 until you reach junction 18, then take the A414 (Maldon) exit. Follow the A414 through Danbury until your reach the major roundabout. Go straight over, taking the B1010 to Burnham, keeping your eye out for the Brown signs - there is one on the roundabout exit to get you started.
Take the first right turn off the B1010 than STAY ON THIS ROAD, through the next village (Purleigh/Cock Clarks) and out the other side onto the long, straight road that is Hackman's Lane. We are on the right, about about a mile after you leave the village. We are signposted clearly.
