About

A screening of the ultimate uplifting classic comedy of the noughties 'School of Rock' (2003), part of our 'Cult Classics' series at the Beecroft Cinema Club.

"In the words of AC/DC: We roll tonight... to the guitar bite... and for those about to rock... I salute you."

Beecroft Cinema Club presents 'Cult Classics' series, screening the iconic films that fans are frenzied for on the last Thursday of each month on the big screen at the Beecroft Art Gallery.

In November, we're heading back to school with Jack Black's much loved feel good comedy, 'School of Rock'. Highly acclaimed for its wit, warmth and incredible soundtrack, the film has cemented itself in cult classic movie history by proving that 'you can make a family film that's alive and well acted and smart and perceptive and funny—and that rocks!'.

Black plays down on his luck rock guitarist Dewey Finn, who after being fired from his band, subsequently poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school to earn some money for rent. After witnessing the musical talent of the students, Dewey forms a secret band of fifth-graders to attempt to win the Battle of the Bands, unbeknownst to the school or the children's demanding parents.

Doors open and refreshments will be available from 6pm and the film will start promptly at 6:30pm (there are no adverts). There is no allocated seating.
