Join our intrepid, intergalactic team in the summer holidays for a full weekend of planetarium shows, meteorite handling sessions and space themed activities at Southend Central Museum and Planetarium. Its like a Space Day… but Supermassive!

Our shows and activities:

Little Stars Early Years Show –
A small start into space, the solar system and beyond for all aspiring astronauts, in a show specially curated for younger children.

Summer Skies –
From constellations and comets to the sun, stars and beyond, this is a great interstellar introduction for children ages 7+.

Gentle Stars SEND Show –
An SEND friendly adaptation of our 'The Night Sky' show, held in the more accessible Beecroft Art Gallery lecture theatre.

Mini Moons –
A special short planetarium show all about the mysteries of the moon, for ages 5+.

Zodiac: Stories and Stars -
A new show exploring the stories and stars of the zodiac for ages 10+. Travel across a full year of the night sky and twelve zodiac constellations, discover where and when to look for them, and uncover the myths and legends hidden among the stars.

Meet the Meteorites –
Reach for the stars in an interactive handling session with real space materials.

'Wall-E' -
A special, family friendly screening of 'Wall-E' (2008), part of our 'Kids Flicks' series at the Beecroft Cinema Club, in the Beecroft Art Gallery.
