About

Tucked away in the Essex countryside, our lovingly restored, family-run pub is a true celebration of local flavour and warm hospitality. With roots deep in the community and a passion for quality, we offer a unique dining experience where every dish tells a story of the season.

Our menu changes daily, driven by the rhythms of nature and the finest produce sourced from trusted local farmers, growers and artisans. From just-picked vegetables and free-range meats to freshly caught fish and hand-crafted cheeses, we believe food tastes best when it's grown nearby and served at its peak. Our chefs work closely with local suppliers to create honest, imaginative dishes that reflect the best of each season, whether it's vibrant spring greens, rich autumn game, or sweet summer berries.

Inside, you’ll find an inviting blend of traditional character and modern comfort, where log fires, cosy corners and friendly faces make everyone feel at home. Outside, our beautifully landscaped beer garden is a hidden gem — perfect for alfresco lunches, lazy weekend drinks, or lively summer barbecues under the open sky.

We also host a regular calendar of monthly events, from tasting evenings and live music to seasonal feasts and family-friendly celebrations, all designed to bring the community together over great food and good company.

Whether you’re joining us for a relaxed pint, a romantic dinner, or a special gathering, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service with a personal touch. Come and discover why our pub is fast becoming one of Essex’s most beloved destinations for lovers of real food, real hospitality, and real connection.
