About

Chelmsford City Racecourse is the UK's newest and Essex's only racecourse, hosting racing and events all year round. The racecourse is at the heart of Essex's social and event calendar, from our famous Thursday night racing to featured race days like Ladies Day and Ministry of Sound to fireworks, Christmas Parties and family days.

One of only three fully floodlit racecourses in the UK and boasting an excellent Polytrack racing surface, we race all year round, providing frequent opportunities to meet with friends, socialise with colleagues and have days out for families.

Two restaurants are open to visitors seeking a hospitality experience on each race day. The Fairwood Brasserie is situated on the ground floor, along the final furlong of the home straight. It offers up to 250 guests a gourmet unlimited buffet dining experience with a vibrant atmosphere. This large restaurant has stunning views of the final furlong and easy access to the parade rings and terraced area.

The Club Restaurant and Lounge is the premier restaurant located on the first floor of the Grandstand, offering a panoramic view over the racecourse. The Club Restaurant offers 3-course and 4-course options with modern British cuisine, exclusive dining with a members' club atmosphere and VIP treatment.

Chelmsford City Racecourse is Britain's first new racecourse, and the track aims to become the UK's and Europe's best all-weather horse racing venue.
