About

Chelmsford City Racecourse opened its doors to the public early in 2015 and has provided a consistent stream of good quality all weather racing fixtures throughout the year. Being one of only three fully floodlit racecourses in the UK, and boasting an excellent Polytrack racing surface, the course is able to race all the way through the winter, as well as hosting summer fixtures.

There are two restaurants available to book within the hospitality complex, both of which are open for business on each race day. The Fairwood Restaurant is situated on the ground floor, along the final furlong of the home straight and offering up to 250 guests a lively and exciting dining experience with a vibrant atmosphere. This large restaurant has stunning views looking out on to the final furlong and easy access to the parade rings and terraced area.

The Fairwood Lounge, adjacent to the restaurant itself, is situated opposite the winning post and leads onto a private terrace, offering unrivalled views of watching your winning horse come home. You can hire this lounge with a variety of unique and bespoke catering options. These areas welcome children under the age of 16.

The Club Restaurant and Lounge is the premier restaurant, located on the first floor of the Grandstand offering a panoramic view over the racecourse. The Club Restaurant offers 3-course and 4-course options with modern British cuisine, offering exclusive dining with a members' club atmosphere and VIP treatment.

Chelmsford City Racecourse is Britain's first new racecourse and the track aims to become the UK's and Europe's best all weather horse racing venue. Providing high quality entertainment and service to all customers and with excellent feedback regarding staff and food, the venue is set to achieve its aim.
