Mercury Rising is an exciting £11.3 million redevlopment project that is currently in its final stages, which will modernise and transform the Mercury, safeguarding its future for the Essex community. Improvements include:

- Full accessibility throughout for the first time
- New rehearsal and community spaces equipped to support the best new talent
- Extended backstage facilities
- A new all-day cafe/bar area
