The Mercury Theatre in Colchester, Essex is at the heart of the city's arts scene - an active and leading theatre venue involved in putting on exciting plays, musicals and performances of national and international importance, as well as in the creation of its own theatre productions of national accliam (Mercury Productions). The recent £11.3 million redevelopment project has modernised and transformed the Mercury, safeguarding its future for the Essex community. Improvements include:

- A transformed foyer space,

- Redeveloped main audiorium with additional seating 

- Full accessibility throughout for the first time

- New rehearsal and community spaces equipped to support the best new talent

- Extended backstage facilities

- A new all-day cafe/bar area
