This pleasant little country town of Chipping Ongar is in the Epping Forest district and is located near the towns of Harlow, Epping and Brentwood. Other notable attractions include Ongar Castle which is an 11th Century Matte & Bailey castle or - in nearby Greensted village - you can visit Greensted Church, which is believed to be the oldest Wooden Church in the world dating back to the 6th century.
