About

Amalgam are a modern Jazz quintet formed back in 2020, which started out as a collection of musicians from around Essex and London rehearsing over the internet at the time of 'social distancing'. From this period emerged a collection of original material that went into the first album, called "Colours", released back in 2023, selected tracks from which are available on Spotify and Apple Music.

They perform a blend of original music along with an assortment of pieces from some of the greats of modern American and European jazz such as Pat Metheny, Chick Corea and Arild Andersen
