About

Colchester’s Rev Simpkins is a sinner-songwriter, folkster, gospeller and a priest in the Church of England. He returns to play in Colchester for the first time in two years, having released the critically acclaimed album and book Big Sea during the pandemic. Written around a time of illness, Big Sea is an exuberant and hope-filled celebration of the peaks and troughs of life and death through vivid songs about east coast creeks, shattering storms, mystic pelicans and the Colchester martyrs.

Profits from this performance will go to support the volunteer-run, community radio station, Colne Radio.
