About

Join Head Gardener Åsa Gregers-Warg to learn how to create a beautiful, sustainable and eco-friendly Beth Chatto-style border for dry soil.

With climate change and future water shortages in mind, we all need to be water-wise and adapt our gardening practices, focusing on water conservation and choosing resilient plants. This does not mean we need to compromise on beauty. Our Gravel Garden is a prime example of how an area of poor, dry soil can be transformed into a beautiful, thriving garden where the plants not only tolerate hot and dry conditions, but flourish and where no irrigation is required once the plants are established. This course will focus on selecting the best drought-resistant perennials, shrubs and ornamental grasses and how to arrange them Beth Chatto-style. We will also cover seasonal maintenance.
