Hylands House

About

Hylands House opens its doors FREE OF CHARGE to reveal the secrets behind its history with an exhibition displayed in the library – this month's exhibition is 'Hylands during WW2'. An additional exhibition will be displayed in the Drawing Room, 'Marconi's Legacy – Past ideas inspiring future solutions' organised by the Chelmsford Civic Society, Leonardo Company and Chelmsford Science and Engineering Society.

Browse Hylands House at your own leisure with last entry at 3pm, or enjoy a free guided tour at 11am led by our knowledgeable team.

The Farmers' & Craft Market is located in the fresh air, between The Stables and Hylands House. The market is a treasure trove of fresh, local food, drink, and crafts direct from the producers and makers. Local honey, fresh bread, hand reared pork and beef, smoked fish and cheese, handmade candles and beautifully crafted jewellery are just some of the delights you'll find.

The Stables, which is home to a vibrant community of artists, designers and makers, will be open to explore. Discover unique handmade pieces available to purchase, or get creative yourself and book one of our experiences or workshops. Grab a coffee and lunch in The Stables Café while you're there and enjoy the live music in the courtyard. #MadeAtHylands

Hawthorn Heavy Horses will be providing estate carriage tours throughout the day. Tour times will be available to book here after the event on Sunday 17th October.
