About

This walking tour will start at the world's first wireless factory, follow a route through the city and finish on the site of the world's first purpose-built radio factory.

The world's first wireless factory in Hall Street was where the radio equipment for the RMS Titanic was made and the world's first radio factory in New Street was where pioneering broadcasts were made. On this site the company mass-produced radar, radio, and television equipment. This walk is not only a celebration of Mr. Marconi and his great achievements but also a tribute to the thousands of local people who worked for the Marconi company. The walking tour from Hall Street to New Street will last around 90 minutes and finish with a tour of the historical site.
