About

Celebrate the peak of summer in our August Photography Workshop at the Beth Chatto Gardens, designed especially for beginners who want to see and create with purpose.

This session combines garden photography with still life, a fun and creative way to practice arranging objects like flowers, leaves, fruits or everyday items to make beautiful, eye catching compositions. You'll learn how to capture vibrant colours, textures and contrasts both outdoors and in these small, controlled scenes. We'll also explore how to work with harsh sunlight, strong shadows and dynamic summer light, while experimenting with composition, perspective and storytelling. Through hands-on experience and guided prompts, this workshop helps you develop confidence with your camera, sharpen your eye and practice intentional looking, transforming ordinary scenes and objects into striking photographs full of life, texture and seasonal richness.

For those starting out or looking to refine their skills.
