About
Join us every 2nd Saturday of the month, all day (10am to 5pm), for our SEN Friendly Days.
This is an opportunity for visitors with additional or sensory needs to enjoy the museum with friends and carers, in a more relaxed atmosphere. Sound effects around the galleries will be turned down or off and a large, quiet break out room is available, in the Wells Suite on the first floor of the Museum of Chelmsford (accessed via the main Museum entrance).
You can also pick up a History Heroes trail from the front desk and set off on a sensory-friendly adventure around the museum. Join Will Wonder and the History Heroes as you search the galleries for special objects you can touch. It's a fun, hands-on way to explore Chelmsford's history at your own pace.
