About

It's 1922 and you're invited to Colchester's best kept-secret – Solanio's Swinging Speakeasy – for a very special event: the auction of the infamous Shakespeare Solitaire.

This priceless diamond is rumoured to have been gifted to William Shakespeare by Queen Elizabeth I herself… but the jewel also carries with it a curse, for every one of its owners have died in mysterious circumstances.

Just two weeks' ago, the body of the Solitaire's most recent owner – renowned actor Henry Lear – was discovered at a Guildford auction house. Tonight, his only daughter is seeking to sell it and rid the family of its terrible curse.

But will Mr Lear's death be the end, or is it just the beginning?

Join the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company for a fun and interactive evening of intrigue and deception, as you work out whodunnit.

Friday tickets include show and charcuterie board. Sunday tickets include show and afternoon tea or charcuterie board.

Please note this is an interactive event – there will be moments when you can question the suspects as well as watching the story unfold.

As we are visiting the 1920s you are welcome to dress for the event, but you are equally welcome not to!
