Wicked Spirits? Witchcraft & Magic in Colchester Castle. Graphic of the outline of Colchester Castle filled with symbols connected to witchcraft.

About

Join renowned author Syd Moore, famed for her Essex Witch Museum Mysteries, as she discusses some of the lesser-known women accused of witchcraft in our county: Sarah Moore, the alleged sea witch and Joan Rowle, both from Leigh-on-Sea, the ‘witches’ of Basildon, Anne Hewghes and Avice Cuny – all of whom have featured in her books. Syd will end the evening with a reading from her chilling collection of short stories,  The Twelve Strange Days of Christmas.

The Castle will be open from 5 – 7pm, so you have time to explore Wicked Spirits?, browse the magical merchandise on sale in the shop and even grab a drink.

'Wicked Spirits? Witchcraft + Magic at Colchester Castle’ opens on July 16th and runs to January 6th 2023.
