About

Mountfitchet Castle Experience is a multi attraction incorporating Mountfitchet Castle & Norman Village of 1066, House on the Hill Toy Museum and Dinosaur Encounters.

Come along to this award winning medieval Castle and Norman Village and travel back in time to Norman England of 1066. Meet the animals that roam freely through out the 10 acre site which love to be hand fed, wander in and out of the many houses, view the scenes, smell the log fires burning and enjoy the ambience of an ancient bygone lifestyle and listen out for the echoes of long forgotten voices. No need to book, just arrive and enjoy your visit.

Within the Castle complex is the world famous House on the Hill Museum which offers the visitor an amazing array of over 70,000 toys from the 19th Century to the 1980's. Excellent exhibitions of World War 1 & 2 memorabilia including a Home Front/Blitz display, a Rock 'n' Roll exhibition, film, TV and theatre memorabilia including life size figures from Star Wars, Dr Who and James Bond etc.

Located inside the toy museum is The Haunted Manor - for a small extra nominal fee of £1.00 per person you can test your nerves - how brave are you?  Guarding the entrance into the Toy Museum are our life size Dinosaurs in the dinosaur park.  A great day out for all the family to enjoy all for one great price. So much to see at Mountfitchet Castle.
