The East Anglian Railway Museum is based at Chappel & Wakes Colne Railway Station, a working station on the Gainsborough Line that links Marks Tey in Essex with Sudbury in Suffolk. We are located in the villages of Chappel and Wakes Colne, near Colchester in Essex on the A1124 Colchester to Halstead Road.

Public Transport Directions

Many visitors choose to enjoy a short train ride as part of their day as the museum is based at Chappel & Wakes Colne railway station, on the working Gainsborough (branch) Line between Marks Tey in Essex and the market town of Sudbury, Suffolk. This is a regular rail service, run by Greater Anglia and train tickets can be purchased from your local ticket office, from the guard, online, or on the ticket machines.
