Come along this Father's Day for Steam Train Rides, where one of our full sized steam engines will be operating, hauling the vintage Freight Train. Also in operation will be the Miniature Railway. You can also have a go if you wish (or get Dad to have a go) on our Pump Trolley. Bring along Dad, Grandad and all the family for this fun filled day. As an extra addon for this event you can Drive a Diesel for £15 – prebooking for this is essential as numbers are limited. Find out more from our Drive a Diesel page. We operate unlimited rides between 10.30 – 15.30, the Museum opens at 10am right through until 5pm. Check out our working Restoration Shed, the magnificent Victorian Goods Shed, period Waiting Rooms & Signal Box as well as the Heritage Centre & Train themed Childrens Playground, our site of over 10 acres is ideal if you would like to bring your own picnic.

Public Transport Directions
Direct trains can be taken from Sudbury, Bures or Marks Tey to the Museum. Marks Tey has an excellent mainline connection with regular trains from London, Colchester and Ipswich.
If you arrive by the Greater Anglia train service, present your valid rail ticket at Visitor Reception to receive a 5% discount on your admission.
