About

Take a step behind the scenes to see the magic of theatre tech and take a whistle stop tour through the world of stage lighting.

Standing in the Wings brings this workshop, perfect for 13-18 year olds, to Chelmsford Theatre. This is a fantastic chance to get hands on experience with industry experts, learning both the practical and theory behind the world of lighting.

It's not just about turning on a few bulbs. It's about setting the mood, telling a story, and bringing the stage to life. This workshop will also encourage participants to build confidence, work as a team and develop crucial problem solving skills.

Budding technicians should bring water, snacks and lunch. Chelmsford Theatre can provide lunch at an additional cost, this must be booked alongside a ticket.

Chelmsford Theatre is fully committed to creating a fully inclusive Discover Programme. We ask that if you have any questions, or would like some additional support that you contact us at outreach.theatre@chelmsford.gov.uk.
