The Thumping Tommys

About

The Thumping Tommys are a London based Folk/Bluegrass/Americana band.

They have toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe captivating audiences with their heady brew of barn-storming, blues infused Irish, American and English folk music.

Their debut album of original music is out now and showcases the versatility of the band, from Dylan-esque ballads to thumping bluegrass and devilish blues hooks.

Support: STAN HARVEY
Stan performs American Folk and Country both old and new, drawing on the best from the song writers of the ‘40s and 50’s (Woody Guthrie, Jack Elliott), right up to the present day (Tod Snider, Guy Clark). He accompanies himself on guitar but always chooses songs that stand up on their own without fancy instrumentation. “I like to let the song do the work. A good melodic song with strong vocals is what people remember most.”Stan has been a semi-regular performer at the club over the years with groups such as Trilogy, Jugfolk and Economy Seven while at the same time playing in several Rock, Pop and Country bands during a busy fifty-year musical career.
