About

Situated in north east Essex, Castle Hedingham is located in the Colne Valley near the town of Halstead. The village is famous for the Norman built Hedingham Castle and Colne Valley Railway as well as many timber framed medieval buildings.

Hedingham Castle is also a romantic wedding venue with ceremonies hosted in the keep, and banquets in the tapestry room, or receptions in the stunning Georgian country house. It can also be hired for corporate events.

It is also the perfect place for a staycation. The Medieval Lodge sleeps 17 and the Garden Cottage sleeps four. Anyone staying here can explore the grounds after hours and enjoy the stunning peace and quiet of the Essex countryside. There is so much to discover just a stone's throw down the road.

The village has three pubs, The Wheatsheaf, The Bell and The Rising Sun, a resturant - The Old Moot House - tea rooms, village store, Post Office, a bed and breakfast, two churches, primary and secondary schools, a doctors surgery, a garage and a cyce repair shop.
