Gingerbread Trail Braintree Town Centre Graphic

About

We are excited to bring to Braintree town centre a free, fun family activity this Christmas time.

The Gingerbread Trail lets families explore the town centre to find the 27 gingerbread characters that have been hidden in windows of shops and businesses.

The idea is to locate them all and make a note of their name on your trail map. When you have found all 27, you can return them at any time during the trail open period to Braintree Town Hall, Braintree Library or Causeway House. You will then receive a certificate of thanks from Father Christmas, a sticker and be entered into a prize draw to win a gingerbread character, knitted by Dolphin WI, or festive hamper in time for Christmas, with the prizes donated by local businesses!

Where to find the trail map

Trail maps are available to pick up at Braintree Town Hall or Braintree Library. A downloadable version can also be found at the bottom of this page for anyone who would prefer that. The trail booklet includes a map to give you an idea where you might find our gingerbread friends.

How to enter

It’s free to enter, and we hope you have a wonderful time exploring the town centre this Christmas time. Whilst walking around take a moment to enjoy the many beautiful Christmas shop windows, pop in for a hot chocolate to warm up and support our local businesses where you can. They’d love to see you!
