Discover the art of Norman embroidery at this creative drop-in workshop at Colchester Castle. Inspired by the Bayeux Tapestry, participants aged 11+ can design and stitch their own Norman-inspired bookmark using simple embroidery techniques and decorative patterns. Led by arts practitioner Clare Sams, this hands-on session explores the colours, motifs and storytelling traditions of Norman art while giving visitors the chance to create a unique handmade keepsake. Younger children can enjoy Norman-themed colouring activities alongside the workshop. Drop in between 10.30am and 12.30pm as part of your visit, with the activity included in Castle admission.
