Halstead Torchlight procession poster 2021 - Flyer

About

This traditional event will take place on Wednesday 1 December 2021 starting at the top of High Street, Post Code CO9 2UK. Torches will be handed out from 6.15pm, for a start time of 7pm.

There will first be the blessing of the crib around the Christmas Tree at Market Hill and then a procession will walk down the High street, to Bridge Street and Trinity Street arriving at the Halstead Public Gardens (CO9 1JE) for the Annual Town Carol Service. Flaming torches (with glo-sticks for younger people) are carried by members of the public and are given free of charge by Halstead Town Council, providing a wonderful traditional spectacle; all are welcome to join in.

The Carol Service is conducted by Churches Together in Halstead, accompanied by the Salvation Army band, and will begin at about 7.30pm with free song sheets being provided; entry is free to all. A collection for the Mayor’s Charity will be taken.
