About

The 'Saffron Story' will be told through multiple activities in the town starting this summer, and culminating in 'Saffron Day' on Sunday, 16th October 2022. This will be run together with Saffron Walden Town Council and centred on the Market Place and will be a showcase both for saffron and its links with Saffron Walden. There will be events and family entertainment, including demonstrations of the use of saffron in Indian and Mediterranean cooking and as a traditional dye. There will also be pitches available for stallholders who can promote saffron, either as an ingredient in food or drink, or in connection with a craft item.
