GARDEN SEEKERS EXHIBITION

Visit the Robert Adam Tapestry Room and Dining Parlour to discover the Garden Seekers Exhibition: An Artistic Lens on the Gardens of Essex.
Essex Gardens Trust artist in residence, Jane Frederick, invites you to take an optical promenade through the great gardens of Essex, in search of the elusive 'old garden magic' described by American author Edith Wharton in 1904.
The works take inspiration from the early 20th century 'garden seekers' who travelled Italy documenting historical villas and gardens. Artist Jane Frederick has been working closely with gardeners, archivists and curators in Essex to unravel and reimagine the past, present, and future of formal gardens across the county.
