Begin the day with an Archery Masterclass - learn to shoot a traditional English longbow by challenging yourselves against a series of targets with the help of a dedicated instructor. Shooting with handcrafted longbows and arrows against Medieval-themed targets, you'll feel right in the heart of battles some 600 years ago!
After a short break for tea and coffee, your experience continues with Falconry - explore the ancient sport with our experts, made even more spellbinding by the imposing medieval backdrop of the Castle. Fly a variety of birds including falcons, buzzards, hawks and owls to the gloved hand. Guests will also see our experts flying one of the falcons to the lure and you will have the opportunity to handle the falcons on your glove.
After all the morning's activities, you will be feeling ravenous and where better to feast like a king than in a castle! Enjoy a delicious locally sourced buffet lunch in the grand and atmospheric Tapestry Room of the Keep, following in the footsteps of kings and queens of times gone by.
The afternoon activities start with an exhilarating Hawk Walk, joining our expert falconers and their Harris Hawk out into the ancient woodland of Hedingham Castle, giving the rare opportunity to watch these stunning birds of prey in action in their natural habitat.
This unforgettable experience day is rounded off with an enjoyable archery 'hunt' in the woodland to practice your newfound skills. Immerse yourself in nature and aim at targets all around the forest.
