About

In partnership with EA Festival and Visit Essex, we are thrilled to be a part of the Essex Big Picnic, taking place on 14-15 June to kick off National Picnic Week!

We have a limited number of free tickets available, for general admission to the Castle and gardens, for one weekend only. Bring a picnic and enjoy a day out in our beautiful grounds, grab some lunch from our local food truck, serving pizza and sandwiches, and explore the Norman keep, one of the finest of its kind in the country. The Keep Tearoom will also be open serving light refreshments and delicious cake. The perfect way to celebrate Father's Day.

Plus live jazz and free Castle tours!

Tickets are limited to 6 per group. Once all complimentary tickets are booked, general admission tickets will be available to purchase at the standard rate.
